Pete Picks - Things To See and Do In Vancouver

From Stanley Park to Granville Island to the Sea To Sky Highway and Cypress Mountain, hikers, bikers, outdoor adventurers, and those who simply just want to get amongst it, can’t help but flock to this city. There’s just something about Vancouver that will have you itching to toss on some flannel and explore its contemporary urbanism amidst a beautiful backdrop of wilderness.

Stunning views, amazing food, chic shopping, local breweries, and its proximity to some of Canada’s most stellar landscapes, makes the city of Vancouver, a travel-worthy destination, and place many people are happy to call home.

Whether you’re following the call of the mountains, or have your eyes set on good eats, local brews, and unique shopping, Vancouver has something to offer everyone.

Here are a few of Pete’s Picks

Looking for places that do the #exploremore some serious justice? Head to Lighthouse Park to catch the sunset, or get your Blundstones muddy with a hike through Lynn Canyon Park. Spend a couple hours hiking to Deep Cove, and enjoy a coffee at Cafe Ors, a lovely European inspired cafe, that proudly sources Vancouver roasted 49th Parallel coffee.

Brewskis anyone?! Let’s talk, over a pint. My friends, Vern Lambourne & Sam Payne at The Parkside Brewery, brew fantastic beer in Port Moody and sell at various restaurants across the city. Next time you’re at these local joints, be sure to order a pint. #petespicks

Local, Chewies, Bishops, Regal Beagle, Barney’s Granville, Fable, Backstage Lounge, Mission, Octopus Garden, Lucky Taco, and it rotates in and out at Nook, Sunset Grill, Darby’s, The Oakwood Canadian Bistro, and Double DD.

Looking for some local shopping? Be sure to head over to Gastown to check out secondhand stores like Hunter and Hare and Old Faithful Shop. RYU, Fjällräven and The North Face will gear you up with everything you need for your next workout or adventure. Walking along West 4th Ave in Kitsilano always sparks my interest, with so many unique shops and boutique, sprinkled amongst notorious brands like Patagonia.
